We asked her what is DEI?
DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Claudia broke down the three components.
Most people are familiar with diversity. When you look at an organization, do they have representation from people from all different demographics?
Equity relates to the opportunities available in a business/organization. Is there equal access to everything, everywhere, for all the people throughout the organization?
Lastly, inclusion involves community and engagement. Is everyone asked their opinion, are they part of the community, and is there a sense of belonging for everyone in the organization.
These three components working together is how organizations can improve DEI in the workplace.
